Flowers are a stunning double rich black, and very large. If lit by the sun they have tones of dark aubergine-as shown in my pictures.
Full sun is best, but will tolerate part shade. You’ll just end up with shorter flower stalks.

Drought tolerant, buuuut, flowers will fade faster

If you choose to collect these seeds for yourself keep in mind that they will often not open up little windows like most varieties. When you shake them and they rattle-they are ready.
Sow in situ in late fall or early spring, disturb the soil and sprinkle like grass seed.
