perennial
Highly ornamental-while in flower
Large, silken flowers that look stunning with the light coming through them, regardless of colour.
Foliage is mounding.
Will often go dormant or semi-dormant after flowering, cut back to prevent tatty appearance.
These have ‘very’ deep tap roots, so make sure that if you plant them that you always want them there. Forever and ever and ever.
And ever.

Always.
Anyway, they’re super easy care. Don’t need a heck of a lot of water, though they’ll put on a much nicer show if you give them some.
They like good soil but will tolerate most except for bog.
They grow about 30” tall.
Full sun is good for more flowers, part sun will see the flowers last longer. Your choice!
I have a pale rose one that is paired with a dark purple flower to bring out the center colour. Very pretty!
Deer don’t eat them in my garden.
Super easy to grow from seed, either winter sow or sow indoors under lights in early Feb. Will not bloom for two-three years.
